Know Your Customer (KYC) Process on WinWin Platform
The WinWin platform requires every user to complete a thorough Know Your Customer (KYC) process. This helps protect against money laundering, fraud and other illicit activities, while ensuring a secure experience for players across Ghana.
Why KYC Matters on WinWin
Legal compliance is ensured by meeting both international and local regulations for anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing. Safety and trust are prioritized by verifying that every account is linked to a real individual, minimizing the risk of stolen-identity fraud. Additionally, fair play is maintained by guaranteeing that all winnings and deposits come from legitimate sources, preserving the integrity of the gaming environment.
Identity Verification Requirements
WinWin’s users are required to submit a clear image of a valid, government-issued ID that displays their full name, photograph, date of birth, nationality, and document expiry date. Accepted forms of identification include the Ghana Card (National ID), driver’s licence, international passport, or any other official ID recognised by Ghana’s Ministry of Finance.
It is important that all details on the ID match the profile information provided during registration. If necessary, users may be asked to provide a selfie alongside the ID to verify ownership.
Proof of Address
To confirm residency, one of the following recent documents is required (no older than three months):
- Utility bill (e.g., electricity, water, landline);
- Bank or mobile-money statement (MTN, Vodafone, AirtelTigo);
- Letter from a licensed financial institution;
- Official correspondence from a government agency.
Each document must clearly display the user’s name and full residential address as registered on WinWin.
Phone Number Confirmation
A valid Ghanaian phone number must be provided and verified via SMS. This adds an extra layer of account security and ensures reliable communication for transaction alerts and support.
Proof of Funds Checks
When cumulative deposits or withdrawals reach certain thresholds, or if unusual activity is identified, users may be required to provide additional proof of source of funds. This could include recent bank statements, screenshots of mobile-money transfers, or any other documentation that verifies the lawful ownership of the funds used on the WinWin platform.
Ongoing Transaction Monitoring
All bets and transactions are continuously reviewed for unusual patterns. If a win appears questionable, WinWin may liaise with software providers to validate specific wagers. Transactions with mismatched sender/recipient information or other red flags will prompt an internal investigation.
Account Suspension & Investigations
Should suspicious behaviour arise — such as questionable deposits, payment cancellations or signs of fraud — WinWin reserves the right to:
- Freeze or close the user’s account;
- Cancel pending deposits or withdrawals;
- Suspend all account activity until the inquiry concludes.
Refusal to provide requested documents or information will result in continued account suspension.
High-Risk Jurisdiction Protocols
Users residing in regions classified as higher AML risk undergo enhanced scrutiny. This may include additional documentation requests or manual review steps to satisfy compliance standards.
Processing Time
Once all required documents are submitted, the KYC review typically takes up to 72 hours. Clear, legible uploads help avoid delays, so it’s recommended to submit high-quality scans or photos on the first attempt.
